2013 Photo Contest is underway

Photo by Mike Trahan"][/caption]I absolutely love looking at photos on Instagram, flickr, FB, and Pinterest, as there are some amazing photographers in the county. With that, in 2011 we launched our first ever Photo Contest and I was quite impressed with the amount and quality of the photos that we received. It was extremely difficult to narrow down our top 10 photos and then top 3 and then our ultimate winner. We landed on the photo of a father and his daughter sailing on Sylvan Lake. The photo was taken by Mike Trahan, and it told the story of not only our brand and tag line, 'Let the Ride Take You...' but also what Lake County is all about. A family destination, where people come up from the city and feel like they are further away from home than they really are. The photo showcased boating in Lake County and all of our natural beauty that us residents are accustomed too. Since that contest was such a great success, we decided to do another one and we already launched our 2013 Photo Contest.

We're looking for photographs that reveal all the amazing people, scenery and culture Lake County has to offer. Your entry could be a candid moment between close friends or a soaring shot over the lake; a family eating ice cream in the sun or a couple canoeing. It could also be a photo of magnificent Forest Preserves. The Grand Prize winner will receive a getaway for four to KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort, the first prize winner a family pack of tickets to Six Flags Great America, and the second prize winner a gift certificate to Sullivan's Steakhouse.
