Although Halloween has hallo'waned,' the fall fun in Lake County is sticking around. It may be 'corny,' but we think you'll 'fall' for the top things to do this weekend November 2-4. For all other events and activities happening this weekend, continue here.

We couldn't convince father time to prolong the inevitable darkening of days, but with the help of complex algorithms and recalling advanced scientific principles, we think we've found a cure to November-phobia; and it's The Top 10 Things To Do in November. ? ?

Autumn is still pressing on and we've got our sights set on ways to spend the perfect fall evenings and weekends.

1. Richardson Adventure Farm & Corn Maze Final Weekend

It’s been an a’maize’ing year for the world’s largest corn maze at Richardson’s Adventure Farm. The Illinois bicentennial-themed labyrinth officially closes for the season this Sunday. Wind your way through nearly ten miles of trails and over 28 acres of corn at the Spring Grove farm. The homestead also offers dozens of events and activities for attendees of all ages like train rides, campfires, a 700-foot zip line, pig races, a petting zoo, a pumpkin patch, giant slides, pedal cart tracks and more. Once all of the fall-fun has your tummy turning, fill it with a warm cup of hot chocolate, a funnel cake, apple cider donuts and other delicious farm-fare for purchase. Events and activities may have extra cost and a waiver is required.

Friday-Sunday, November 2-4; Fri.: 3-11 p.m. Sat.: 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Sun.: noon-10 p.m. Admission: $14-$19. Richardson Adventure Farm and Corn Maze, 909 English Prairie Rd., Spring Grove.

2. Realm of Terror's Bloodbath

Halloween has come and gone, but the haunts haven’t left. Round Lake Beach’s Realm of Terror hosts a special bloodbath night this Saturday night to celebrate its final day of the season. The bona fide scare zone will douse attendees in buckets of blood as they navigate through the twists and turns at one of Illinois’s most renown haunted attractions. Attendees wearing white garb will receive discounted admission.

Saturday, November 3; 7 p.m.-midnight. Admission: $25-$45. Realm of Terror Haunted House, 421 W. Rollins Rd., Round Lake Beach.

3. Libertyville's Chef Fest

Foodies will flock to the Bess Bower Dunn Museum of Lake County for MainStreet Libertyville’s esteemed Chef Fest: Night at the Museum this Saturday. The annual fundraiser will feature samples of hors d’oeuvres, desserts, wine, beer, craft drinks and more from more than 20 talented chefs from the Libertyville area. Before fare festivities begin, the recently opened museum lead visitors to behind-the-scenes tours from 7-9 p.m. The event features a silent auction with prizes that include a Main Street Social chef dinner, a Pizzeria DeVille Food Truck meal serving up to 20 people and many other Libertyville goodies. Exhibits may or may not come to life after dark. The Dunn Museum event is for guests ages 21 and older.

Saturday, November 3; 7-10 p.m. Admission: $75. Bess Bower Dunn Museum of Lake County, 1899 W. Winchester Rd., Libertyville.

4. Volo Bog's Bird Walk

Take a flight to Ingleside for Volo Bog’s celebrated Bird Walk this Saturday. The beautifully preserved bog has documented over 190 species of birds on its site. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own set of binoculars as well as a writing utensil and a journal to view and record their sightings. The three-mile walk may last three hours so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Registration is requested at [email protected].

Saturday, November 3; 8 a.m. Free admission. Volo Bog State Natural Area, 28474 W. Brandenburg Rd., Ingleside.

5. Shepherd's Crook Wild Turkey Shoot

Fore! Create a team of your best “birdie” buddies and register for Shepherd’s Crook Golf Course’s Wild Turkey Shoot. The Zion course will award turkeys to the 1st, 3rd, 7th and 18th place teams for the upcoming Thanksgiving feast. The competition’s admission includes coffee, rolls and a pumpkin pie. For more information call 847-872-2081.

Saturday, November 3; 9 a.m. Admission: $196 per team. Shepherd’s Crook Golf Course, 351 Green Bay Rd., Zion.
