What some may not know, is Lake County’s theatre lineup during the 10 days to savor is unmatched. There are also musicians, comedians and bands gracing our fair stages. Complement your experience accordingly with dinner, a show and Lake County Restaurant Week.

ABBA’s hits tell the hilarious story of a young woman’s search for her birth father on a Greek island paradise. Sophie, the story’s protagonist, read her mom’s diary from 20 years ago and secretly invites the three men her mom wrote about to her own wedding. Follow this enchanting story and remember to always dance like a queen. The show runs until April 16.

Madagascar – A Musical Adventure at the Marriott Theatre

Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip-hop Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they take the Lincolnshire stage for a musical adventure of a lifetime. Madagascar – A Musical Adventure opens this weekend at the Marriott Theatre. The gang attempts to escape from their Central Park Zoo displacement to return home to their own country – Madagascar. The show is based off the 2005 DreamWorks animated motion picture that originally starred Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer and Jada Pinkett-Smith. The show runs through April 15.

The 50-member Wind Ensemble, composed of talented CLC students and community members, is conducted by Dr. Michael Flack. Each concert is programmed to include a large variety of challenging and beautiful music from the wind ensemble repertoire.

Sunday, March 12; 4 p.m.

Young local jazz players will show off their talents and combine forces with CLC’s Monday Night Jazz Ensemble. The concert will also include special guests Libertyville High School Jazz Ensembles.

Solve the murder mystery entitled ‘Murder at the Juice Joint,’ dressed in Great Gatsby garb. Tickets include hors d’oeuvres and a chance to win the murder mystery and some ticket holders will get a role in the mystery. Open to anyone 21 and older. Costumes allowed.
