This summer will unleash the largest road improvement season in Lake County history with an approximate construction value of $126 million. This means that many local residents and visitors alike will encounter some sort of construction during their daily drive across the county.
The plan calls for a grand total of 32 construction projects. The vast majority of these projects begin during the months of April, May and June with projected completion dates as early as August 2013.
The longest project is at Delany Road, where construction began in October 2011 with an estimated date of completion in August 2014 for the purpose of reconstructing and widening the road to five lanes. On the contrary, the shortest project is at Cedar Lake Road, where sidewalk installation will force lane closures from July to August 2013.

The most complex construction project will be at Rollins Road, where starting June; a roadway will be built under a railroad causing months of delays and a two week closure sometime in 2013. Completion on this project is estimated for November 2014.
