Get Cozy with Coffee and Tea: Cafes in Lake County

There’s a coffee shop on every corner, and while sometimes we just need to stop in for a quick cup-a-joe for our morning caffeine fix, there are other times when there’s no better way to spend a winter day than snuggled up with a good book, in a unique coffee shop.  Here are just a few unique and charming cafes around Lake County to spend an afternoon.

Café Book
395 Lake Street, Antioch
847.395.2223
Cafe Book gives you that “homey” feeling right when you walk in.  No wonder it’s a favorite gathering place where people connect in a warm & friendly environment!   Serving more than just coffee, they also offer a selection of bakery items and lunches… not to mention gelato.  Stop at their gift shop, Rustique that’s located right inside and offers a unique collection of antiques, home décor and artwork.  More

Beans and Leaves Café
This café has everything that you’re looking for in a quaint and artsy place to spend a few hours…or a day.  Acoustic music is a common addition, and the details of the shop are as cute and quaint as the rest of Long Grove that waits just outside.  But trust me… you’re going to want to stay awhile.  Bring a book, make a friend and get toasty as the snow falls. More

Green Tea-Ist in Lake Forest
For the tea connoisseur, or for anyone looking for a new experience in the world of all things “green tea”, might I suggest the Green Teaist?  This is a seriously unique store, and you’ll get a lesson in the green teas of Japan along with your experience.  Matching the clean and crisp nature of green tea, the atmosphere is designed to be minimalistic and classic.  Maybe not the best place for rowdy groups, but definitely something to try out. It’s All Good Coffee and Espresso, Inc. in Zion
Get your coffee fix in a one of a kind setting of a quaint English cottage style building.  Guests can feel free to relax with coffee, tea, or even pastries, soups and sandwiches.  Cold outside?  Warm up next to the fireplace that overlooks the courtyard. More

Liquid Fusion in Lincolnshire
This modern and sleek cafe serves up some of the best bubble tea around!  Designed with a vibrant and lively theme, you’re more likely to have a conversation about some of the race car or motorcycle inspired themes than hear any acoustic guitar.  Something awesome about their menu is that they NEVER freeze the fruit in their smoothies, so they always taste super fresh!  It’s a great place to hang out before seeing a movie at the Lincolnshire Regal Theaters.  More Info

Tea Harbor in Vernon Hills
Spend some time trying new kinds of tea and bring some of their premium loose leaf teas home with you.  Learn about all kinds of teas from white, green, oolong, black, herbal, maté and more from all over the world.

Something’s Brewing (2 Locations)
1126 E. Washington
Downtown Location: 82 Center St.
Start your day off right with some of their delicious coffee, tea (or even a smoothie) and let the stress of the morning rush drift away.  You’ll definitely want to stick around for awhile here.  Their relaxed and fun atmosphere really make it a place you’ll want to savor.  And don’t worry if you start to get a little hungry because they have delicious food for any of our three favorite meals – plus pastries galore to snack on too! (Do yourself a favor and try the Casey Dippers!)  More
