Update as of May 29, with the start of Phase 3 Restore Illinois, golf courses will permit foursomes on the same tee times. Golf carts will also be accessible, seating one per vehicle or two from immediate households.
Many golf courses in Lake County and statewide will allow residents and visitors to hit the links on May 1.
The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity provided its rules to courses throughout the Land of Lincoln under Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s renewed coronavirus-prevention orders in effect throughout May.
But before we get to the rules, let’s celebrate the reopening of courses in Lake County as they are everyone’s sanctuary. Well in some cases… because in some instances it conjures our deepest rage.
In our area, Lake County has 46 scenic courses with pristine wall-to-wall fairways. With the beauty, complexity and elaborate terrain, Golf Courses in Lake County have hosted some of the most extraordinary talents in the PGA and LPGA.
