Local Latin American Flavor

Located near the southeast corner of Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL, off of Washington and Riverside is a healthy alternative option for a quick bite to eat called Momcorn.

Momcorn serves primarily Latin American and Mexican themed foods that generally focus on utilizing corn as a primary ingredient. The end result is a meal that is prepared from scratch with natural ingredients that can be specialized for a gluten-free or vegetarian diet, as well as for all meat lovers alike. The name Momcorn was derived as a play on words to any movie lover’s favorite treat: popcorn.

During my visit for lunch, I went with a chicken burrito, which can be described as tasting “fresh.” From the vegetables to the rice and meat, the flavor was positively pleasing to my palate. The pricing of the burrito is competitive to Chipotle, with an option of a daily special that is quite reasonably affordable.

Beyond the food, the staff at Momcorn is friendly and interactive with its customers, creating that pleasant small business experience that could never be replicated at a chain restaurant.
