Near the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Route 22, lies the only hotel in Lake County that contains an in-house theatre. Even more unique, this isn’t the type of theatre you go to check out a Hollywood film. The Marriott Theatre is home to live performances of Broadway inspired plays. This location also features the only in-door/outdoor swimming pool option in the county.
The Lincolnshire Marriott Resort lies just far enough off of any major road to where it feels as if you have traveled far away to a resort in the middle of a forest and yet it’s conveniently only minutes away from the shopping district of Lincolnshire. Inside of the resort this theme continues with dark stained pine wood on red brick and a raised ceiling that remind me of my experiences visiting the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.
By June of 2013, the Lincolnshire Marriott will have renovated all of its rooms to match the theme of the resort’s lobby. With newly painted white ceilings and cream colored walls replacing the vanilla colors that preceded it. Modern furniture, new mirrors, lighting accessories, flat screen TVs, curtains, comforters, and pillows are all part of the updated rooms. The third floor rooms will continue to feature a sliding window balcony and raised ceilings.
Unlike many homogenous hotels off of major highway or near airports, the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort benefits from its seclusion by bringing its guests away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and into the wilderness without actually leaving the city.
