Six Flags Great America Opening Soon

Winter 2013 started off innocently enough with the first major snow storm dropping in January, but once it started, these last couple of months have felt like winter would never end. With the weather predicted to finish its final snowfall today followed by temperatures warming up later this week, it’s finally time to start planning for summer activities.

One of the most frequently asked questions in Lake County at this time of year is “When is Six Flags: Great America opening?” The answer is that Six Flags in Gurnee, Illinois will open its doors during the weekend of May 4-5. Only a month to go!

New at Six Flags: Great America this year is “igNIGHT – Grand Finale,” a visually stunning high-tech nighttime live performance with music, singing, dancing, laser lighting and pyrotechnics that is sure to amaze guests all season long. X-Flight along with over 14 roller coasters will also return next month to thrill daredevil audiences. Also don’t forget that Hurricane Harbor Water Park is free with park admission!

With so many fun activities to experience at Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor next month, it’s about time that the weather started to warm up! Season passes and daily tickets are now available online.
