I Love Lake County Song Search: Fan Vote

By: Jonathan Jones 03/31/2015

The time is up for song  submissions, and afXLC Banner Adter careful deliberation, we have named our top 12 musicians from our I Love Lake County Song Search. Enter for the I Love Lake County Song Search: Fan Vote until polling closes on April 19!

We would like to extend our thank you from Visit Lake County to those of you that worked diligently creating a song that best described the uniqueness, beauty, businesses and so much more about our area.

We received a diverse amount of songs including, folk, pop, rock, acoustic, hip hop and other genre variations.

Here comes the fun part for all of those who are Lake County residents and visitors. All 12 songs are placed here on our website linked to our YouTube channel.

Be sure to listen to the entire song, as these musicians put their valuable time, hearts and souls on these projects.  You have one vote for your favorite musician – which is the Fan Vote winner. The winner of the Fan Vote for the I Love Lake County Song Search will receive $500 and the opportunity to perform their winning song (and potentially other songs in their library) at Mickey Finn’s on May 14.

Our participants in the I Love Lake County Song Search are Griff Johnson of Grayslake (Squared), Doug Marshall of Highland Park, Dylan Kroll of Gurnee, Christy Shanks of Lindenhurst, Marcus Ziegler aka Diamond Z of Libertyville, Dan Kortmann and Jenny Trio (Dan and Jenny Trio) of Lake Zurich, Matt Sams of Mundelein, Kyle Schardt of Lake Villa, Vessy Mink of Barrington, Rory Tyer Band of Libertyville, Scott Arcari of Kildeer and John Lambert of Wauconda.

While each of the musicians, continue to check back to our blog as we do a highlight feature on each of the 12 finalists.

The Mickey Finn’s performance for Fan Vote winner isn’t just a venue for that winner, but it will be where we announce our Ultimate Grand Prize winner. The Ultimate Grand Prize winner receives $1000, a music video, a professionally recorded version of the winning song and potential to perform at multiple Lake County summer festivals.

The outcome of the Fan Vote doesn’t anyway shape the result of the Ultimate Grand Prize Winner. Also the amount of views does not indicate the amount of votes each musician has received. You must vote with your email address on our website.

When you’ve completed your voting, share your results with #LCSongSearch. This is a great opportunity for these Lake County musicians to push on your social media handle!

Get out there and support your Lake County artists! #VisitLakeCounty
