The Easter bunny is hopping his way to Lake County’s various different favorite spots. There are plenty of family fun events occurring in Lake County to take your attention away from the snow that’s on the ground. We also know some of your little critters have Spring Break. Here are the top events happening this weekend in Lake County.
1.) “Hey Jude!” Do you have a ‘Ticket to Ride?’ Take a trip down ‘Penny Lane,’ to the James Lumber Center in Grayslake to ‘Twist and Shout’ to the tunes of American English. This renowned Beatles Tribute Band wants take you ‘Across the’ Beatles ‘Universe’ as they perform the British invaders’ classics from the 1963-1970 era. This meticulous cover band takes all the fab four’s explicit details like costume changes, vintage instruments and special effects.

2.) The wasically wabbit is back so your children ages eight and under can take a picture with the Easter bunny or hunt for treats and prizes at Vernon Hill’s Hoppin Holiday Hunt & Magic Show. Enjoy some family fun with not only Easter hunts, but a continental breakfast, and a magic show! Saturday, March 28 at 9 – 11 a.m.; 635 N. Aspen Dr Vernon Hills, IL 60061. Adults pay $7 for resident and $9 for non-residents , children admission for residents is $5 and non-resesidents are $6.
3.) It’s a good old-fashioned Fish Fry Day. The Grandwood Park Civic Center is hosting their Annual Fish Fry on Friday, March 27 in Gurnee. Relish in the fried fish flavor that is complemented by macaroni & cheese, cole slaw, French fries and bread. Wine, beer and soft drinks also are available as well as the option to carry-out.

4.) After a long week of work, sometimes you just need to laugh out all of your stress. The Waukegan Yacht Club supplies that with ROARS Comedy Night presented by B-Thrifty. Stand-up comedians scheduled to grace the stage are nationally acclaimed Zanies headliners Fritz Nothnagle, Lenny Schmidt and Mike Preston. Friday, March 27 at 9 p.m. 199 N. Harbor Pl. 5.) Do you like to hike in a group setting? The Forest Fitness at Captain Daniel Wright Woods Canoe Launch in Vernon Hills may be what you’re looking for. This fast-paced adult group is one hour of rigorous exercise in a friendly atmosphere. Each week the forest fitness group reconvenes , a new forest preserve is featured!
