UPDATE: Round 1 Standings – Tee Times and BMW Championship Round 1 information

Here we go every one! It was been an exciting week of golf and a lot of fun out at Conway Farms in Lake Forest so far, but this is where the excitement really begins. Tournament time! Round 1 of the BMW Championship kicks off today with the first group teeing off at 10:20am. There are a lot of great players to watch in this tournament and the course lays out really well for viewing. Some holes I will be at are hole 15, 5 and 18. I hear the hole 5 will be a challenge, while hole 15 is going to be a lot of fun for the pros and we may see a lot of birdies there. But hole 18, seeing the player walk up and finish his round, nothing beats that experience in golf. Now on to some of the players to watch, obviously, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy are the big names to watch and Rory is the defending BMW Champion. Don’t sleep on Luke Donald as this is his home course and he knows it well so hopefully that plays in his favor. Henrik Stenson is the current FedEx Cup points leader and will be teeing off at 10:53am this morning at hole 10 with Tiger Woods and Adam Scott. From what I am hearing, Jordan Spieth is a 20 year old phenom who is making his mark on the tour and an overall great kid. Some of the Wisconsin golf fans that are in town will be following Steve Stricker who goes off at Tee 10 at 10:42am with Justin Rose and Brandt Snedeker. Overall it should be a great day of golf. Below are the tee times for the Round 1.

Update
It was a great first day at the BMW Championship at Conway Farms in Lake Forest. Every where I turned, there some amazing golf being played. I also saw my favorite childhood basketball player and Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen, who was taking in the action. I couldn’t tell you my favorite hole to be at today because all of them has a difference view. Conway Farms Golf Club has done a magnificent job with course and accommodating all the spectators. The roar of the crowd on ever single putt, or when they saw Phil Michelson walk past after being on the putting green. Obviously, the big crowds were around Tiger Woods and it was awesome to watch him play. Every shot, every approach, the crowd watched his every move very intently. Cheering him on after a great shot. I saw fans interacting at every hole with the pros, either by yelling out, ‘Nice shot Tiger!’, ‘Way to go Ian!’, or even reaching out and high fiving Luke Donald. I am not the most diehard golf fan, but I did play when I was a kid, my parents play in a league, so I know the game a little bit, but there is nothing to get you more excited about the game than experiencing it firsthand. The excitement that is in the air once you get to Conway Farms is unbelievable! I have been to an NFC Championship game, baseball playoff games and I have to say being at the Conway Farms for the BMW Championship definitely is right up there with those experiences. I can’t wait to be out there next few days. I was fortunate enough to meet some people who follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and golf fans who are in town for the tournament. Golf fans are some of the nicest people you will meet. I am looking forward to meeting some more people and watching how this tournament will play out. In the meantime and until tomorrow, here are the results from round 1.

randt Snedeker made seven straight birdies on his way to an 8-under 63 and a one-shot lead over Zach Johnson in the third FedExCup Playoff event — the BMW Championship — on Thursday. The opening round was mainly about the debut of Conway Farms, a Tom Fazio design north of Chicago which has a blend of strong holes and plenty of birdie opportunities on par 4s where players hit wedge for their second shot. Low scoring was predicted, and Snedeker’s round was proof of that. But as the wind picked up and shifted directions, the course was far from a pushover.

Rickie Fowler opened with a pair of double bogeys, followed by a pair of bogeys. He rallied for a 77. Rory McIlroy made a double bogey — his ninth of the FedExCup Playoffs — on his second hole, and then three-putted from 4 feet for a triple bogey and staggered to a 78. Lee Westwood, fighting severe pain in his back and ribs, had an 80.

Here is the top 10 after Round 1
Brandt Snedeker -8 63
Zach Johnson -7 64
Charl Schwartzel -5 66
Steve Stricker -5 66
Tiger Woods -5 66
