Things to do this Weekend January 22-24

By: Jonathan Jones 01/19/2016

It’s a little nippy out there. However, the weather is supposed to be warmer in the upcoming days (hopefully you’re right Mr. Skilling). It seems as though the weather will be creeping up to the 20s and 30s.

For all of your winter endeavors, be sure to check the newest edition of our Winter Guide: Walking in a Lake County Winter Wonderland that was released last week.Frosty Fest

This week features festivals, skating parties, shows and family classes that we’ll peak your interest during this winter season.

Here are the top things to do this weekend January 22-24 in Lake County

  1. Like Frosty, you will be a jolly happy soul when attending Bittersweet Golf Course on Saturday. Gurnee’s Frost Fest is a day you and the family don’t want to miss. This unforgettable experience include ice sculpting, ice carving demonstrations, horse-drawn carriage rides, dog sled demonstrations, snowshoeing, sledding, free s’mores and hot cocoa and other festive winter games.
Saturday, January 23; 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Bittersweet Golf Course, 875 Almond Rd., Gurnee.

2. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 is an upbeat number. Experience Lake Forest Symphony’s  Lake Forest Symphony's Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8                         performance of the genius’ vision at the CLC’s  James Lumber Center                 for the Performing Arts. Emotions will be stirred with the immortal                   and virtuosic expressions of Brahms’ violin concerto played by newly                 appointed concertmaster Netanel Draiblate.
