Lambs Farm farmyard opens for the season March 30th. Experience a variety of attractions, play a round of miniature golf, take a mini-train ride and punch your ticket for the Old World carousel. Stroll through the farmyard and visit with horses, llamas, goats, potbelly pigs, miniature cattle, equine, sheep and more at Lambs Farm petting zoo. Also visit the Dogwood Pet Shop to see the adorable puppies, munch on a delicious dish from Magnolia Café & Bakery, take home a memory of your trip from the Cedar Chest Thrift Shop or peruse the legendary snacks offered by the Sugar Maple Country Store. The Libertyville farmyard also hosts the Bunny Brunch, where the wily rabbit is in attendance to hop over and meet the youngsters. All the businesses at Lambs Farm benefit programs for people with developmental disabilities. Lambs Farm is open through the end of fall.

The boating season officially kicks-off this Sunday at Waukegan Harbor and Marina. Dust off your vessels as the city’s harbor sits right on beautiful Lake Michigan. The harbor features the finest in boating with a marina of over 1,000 slips, perfect for the freed to meander the Great Lake with the family.

Your little ones turn into sleuths as Zion hosts their 63rd annual Easter Egg Hunt. Lake County’s eldest egg hunt features that sneaky Easter Bunny who has hidden10,000 eggs filled with candy and toys. Mr. Bunny will be in attendance to watch the children aged eight years old and younger gather up his eggs. Lucky attendees who discover four golden eggs will win new bicycles. No bags or baskets are permitted at the Saturday event.

Spend an evening in Waukegan as Chick Corea graces the Genesee Theatre’s stage on Friday. Corea is a legendary pianist, composer and the fourth-most nominated artist in Grammy Awards history recording 63 nods and 22 wins. The music icon is joined by the critically-acclaimed Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, a 15-piece ensemble of the finest performers. Every jazz-lover should have this show on their bucket list.

Create a holiday keepsake this weekend at Gurnee Mills or Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills. Children of all ages can pose for a photo-op, as well as meet and greet with the Easter Bunny. Both bunnies can be found in the Macy’s wing of the respective malls. Reservations are encouraged. The Easter Bunny visit is free of admission; however photographs require an extra fee.
