May the 4th be with you! We have back to back weekends with holidays in this edition of things to do this May 5-7: Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day.

Without further adieu, here are the top things to do this weekend May 5-7 in Lake County.
MainStreet Libertyville invites one and all to their monthly celebration of First Fridays on MainStreet. A variety of fantastic drinks, mouth-watering eats and live entertainment surrounds the event as you peruse the Lake County local mom and pop stores offering promotional sales. Be there or be square! The Friday celebration is a free admission event.

It’s a weekend full of wild costume parties, voodoo dolls and surprise romance. Who couldn’t be more curious about those three plots combined? Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike is now showing at the Citadel Theatre in Lake Forest. This comedy originally written by Christopher Durang revolves around the relationships of three middle-aged single siblings. The trio of siblings bicker and discuss their lives while Spike is Masha’s love interest whose claim to fame is landing the role in the sequel to Entourage: Entourage 2. The original Broadway production of the play was nominated for six Tony Awards winning ‘Best Play’ in 2013.

Bathe in the expression of art as Downtown Antioch hosts its 11th Annual Art Crawl. Browse the talent of Antioch’s students on display complemented by live entertainment. The Art Crawl event is sponsored by School District no. 34, Antioch Fine Arts Foundation, the Village of Antioch and the Antioch Chamber. Be sure to stop by the band shell for live entertainment.

Running enthusiasts will do their best buck and doe impersonations as they compete in the Annual Deer Dash in Deerfield. This Jaycee Park dash features a 5K, 10K races and a one-mile fun run designed for both beginning and experienced runners. Bring family and friends to cheer on competitors of all ages. There are no age group awards because everyone who finishes is a winner. To sign up on race day, you must register by 7:15 a.m. Check-in opens at 6:30 a.m. Admission to the dash includes a race T-shirt, race packet and refreshments.

Lake County Watersports is hosting the Lake County In-Water Boat Show along the shores of Bangs Lake in Wauconda. This show features some of the best vessels on the waters of Lake County in the backyard of Lindy’s Landing. Some of the products to be showcased include G3 Boats, Yamaha, Lowe, Suncatcher, Prince Raft, Bentley, Mastercraft, Tuffy and many more. Attendees have the opportunity to test drive the boats on display. To complement a day in watercraft heaven, stay for a bite to eat at Lindy’s and enjoy the view.
