Saturday, August 23, 4 – 9 p.m. Watch as colorful hot air balloons soar high into the the blue sky above! But don’t worry, while they’re traveling, there will be plenty of balloon themed games and family activities. Grab a bite of delicious food from local vendors, dance to some live music and even see a Civil War Era baseball game that starts the day at 4 p.m. Once the sun sets, enjoy the scene of glowing hot air balloons at this magical event. 2.) Little Bear Rib Fest
Friday August 22, 6 p.m. – 12 a.m. – Saturday, August 23, 3 p.m. – 12 a.m. Celebrate some of the region’s best barbecue with fall-off-the-bone ribs, roasted corn, and mouth watering desserts. Bring a blanket and enjoy your own patch of lawn while savoring each bite. 3.) Potawatomi Trails Pow Wow
Saturday, August 23, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. A Pow-Wow is a planned social event of Native American people. Be a part of this tradition and gather to thank the Great Spirit for good times of the past, and to welcome a new season. Hear traditional singing and music, and get a unique chance to see traditional dance presentations. Learn how the Potawatomi trails were originally established in the Lake County area to indicate directions and honor the descendants of these historic markers. Shiloh Park, 27th Street, Zion
4.) Taste of the Towns, Lake Zurich, Sunday, August 24, 3 – 7 p.m. Spend an evening sampling food from popular food vendors and then enjoy an outdoor music concert and family entertainment in beautiful Paulus Park along the shores of Lake Zurich.

5.) Adlai E. Stevenson Historic Home Public Tours
Sunday, August 24, 1 & 2:30 p.m.
Learn about the “Man from Libertyville”, Adlai E. Stevenson and his role in history on an hour long tour of his home. Recently declared a National Historic Landmark by the Secretary of the Interior, this historical location includes self-guided trails with informative signs, and rarely opens its doors to public tours. Adlai’s grandfather was Grover Cleveland’s Vice President and he personally served as the Governor of Illinois from 1949 – 1953 and served as Ambassador to the United Nations during the Kennedy administration.
