The Vernon Hills Winter Fest is a celebration of outdoor recreation for you and the family on Saturday January 17 from 11 am-2 pm. There are plenty of live performances to see in Lake County this week. Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day in Lake County
It is nice to relax on a three-day weekend. The area will be honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., all around Lake County on Monday. St. Peter United Church of Christ in Lake Zurich will feature keynote speaker Reverend Dr. John H. Thomas – Senior Advisor to the President and Visiting Professor of Ministry Studies at Chicago Theological Seminary. Highland Park will hold its Sixth Annual Multi-Generational MLK Day of Service at the Recreation Center of Highland Park. Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White will describe his experiences with the late Dr. King. White’s Tumbling Team will also be in attendance to end the service.
