Visit Lake County releases Dylan Kroll's Lake County, the Bounty of Illinois
Visit Lake County announced Kroll as winner after a panel of judges in May deliberated and chose his song, ‘Lake County, the Bounty of Illinois,’ as Grand Prize winner. Kroll also was crowned Fan Vote winner a month prior.
Kroll not only took home a cash prize, but the music video initiative was implemented as Pineapple Boy Films head Jake Jarvi (from Highland Park) did a wonderful job filming the vision.
The music video was shot for four days highlighting Lake County attractions including, Six Flags Great America, KeyLime Cove, Jump America and Gurnee Mills in Gurnee, the Lake County Fair in Grayslake, Illinois State Beach Park in Zion, Genesee Theatre, Krolls Farm, Waukegan Harbor and Bowen Park in Waukegan, Ravinia in Highland Park, Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire, Cook Park and Mickey Finn’s in Libertyville, various locations in Antioch like Chain O’ Lakes State Park, Volo Auto Museum in Volo and the Des Plaines River Trail.
Along with shooting a music video with Visit Lake County, Kroll also professionally recorded his song with Dustin Bennett of Dusty Records USA in Lake Forest. Bennett, Kroll, Brandon Lampkin of Chicago and Kroll’s mother Ruth Ann worked diligently to produce a phenomenal and beautiful finished product.
“The filming of the music video was a fun process,” Kroll said. “It took the cooperation of many people to aid in its successful production. This contest has been an amazing opportunity for me, which has already helped me network for other opportunities and hopefully it will continue to be a spring board for my advancement in music as a career. Thanks again to all.”
Not only has Kroll’s song ‘Lake County, the Bounty of Illinois’ been created as a music video , but Kroll’s song will also be used on broadcast
“We are excited and thrilled to be launching this new music video to showcase the essence of Lake County,” said Director of Marketing Anthony Haag. “There is so much to do in Lake County no matter the season. Dylan is a very talented musician. To receive this quality of a product and envisioning this campaign from where we started brings joy to the entire convention and visitors bureau. We hope people like the song and come to visit Lake County.”
Kroll has an extensive music background, as he studied music at Warren Township High School and College of Lake County in Grayslake. Kroll also worked as a portion of the Six Flags Great America Acapella Quartet called Da Offbeats.
