What is the great element of having a pool indoors? Well for one, you don’t have to worry about prior planning for things like weather or hazardous waste in a lake or river.

For anytime of weather issue weather it’s to cool out from the humidity of Lake County in the summer or warm/relaxing getaway in the winter (as the water park is around 84 degrees), there is KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort in Gurnee.

 KeyLime Cove, which was a part of our summer campaign (along with Six Flags Great America in Gurnee and Lake County Fair in Grayslake), has been nominated for an award by nationally renowned magazine newspaper USA Today for best indoor waterpark. Vote KeyLime Cove for Best Indoor Waterpark!

The Gurnee Resort/Waterpark is no stranger to accolades. KeyLime Cove was recognized as the Daily Herald’s Readers’ choice in 14 categories: best theme restaurant (in ’13 and ’14), best candy store (in ’13 and ’14), best day spa (in ’13 and ’14) , best indoor waterpark (in ’13 and ’14), best ice cream, best local hotel, best place to work, best family value, best place for a picnic/reunion. Other awards include Trip Advisor’s Travelers’ Choice Award for Top 25 Hotels for Families (’14), Trip Advisor’s 2013 Certificate of Excellence Award, and they were recognized by IHLA as the Stars of the Industry in 2013.

USA Today is kicking off its 10Best (as chosen by the readers of USA Today and 10Best for Best Indoor Waterpark.

Currently KeyLime Cove is at fourth place behind Great Wolf Lodge, Kalahari Resort and Massanutten in McGaheysville, Virginia. Voting is open until Monday, August 31 at 11:59 a.m. EST.
