  1. Don’t miss Buffalo Grove Days 2012 happening through Monday at the Clayton Municipal Campus. This annual festival has fun for the entire family, which includes a carnival, live entertainment, a parade, fireworks, bingo, food tent, arts and craft fair, BBQ challenge, kids craft tent and much more. The live entertainment will feature Jamie Lono, from NBCs The Voice and 7th Heaven on Friday night, and Casey Abrams, an American Idol Finalist from season 10, on Sunday.
  1. Experience the 64th Annual Jubilee Days Festival at Shiloh Park in Zion. This Lake County tradition offers a 5k run, ice cream social, arts and crafts festival, food, live entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display on Sunday night. The theme for the event is “75 years and Still Growing: The Illinois Dunesland Garden Club”, the parade at 1pm on Monday, is symbolic of this theme, and is also Illinois’ largest Labor Day parade.
  1. Celebrate a plethora of different cultures at the Long Grove International World Tour this Saturday through Monday. The international flavor will be represented through foods, live music, dance and activities, including Irish, Scandinavian, Polish, German, French, Native American, Italian and more. The shops in Long Grove already represent these diverse cultures year-round, but there will be a special emphasis on it this Labor Day weekend.
  1. Enjoy fine art at the Deer Path Art League’s signature annual event, Art Fair on the Square, this Sunday and Monday from 10am – 5pm at Market Square in Lake Forest. The art fair attracts visitors from Chicago, Milwaukee and over 22 suburban communities. The selected art exhibitors work in a variety of disciplines including ceramics, digital art, drawing/pastels, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, graphics/printmaking, photography and more. There will also be a children’s art tent for the creative little ones.
  1. Swing by Miller’s Dog n Suds Drive In Saturday night between 5pm-10pm for their Classic Car Cruise Night. This event will feature pre-1973 hot rods, classics, custom and antique cars. Bring your dancing shoes and dance the night away to the sounds by 39 & holding, the world’s best DJ featuring Scottie Hicks. Take pleasure in great food, homemade creamy root beer, great music and fun for the whole family.
