Here are 5 things to do this Memorial Day weekend. There are plenty more activities and events listed on our website. I hope everyone has a save and enjoyable weekend!

Cruise into Miller’s Dog N Suds Drive-In on Saturday for Classic Car Night. All the cars on display will be pre-1973 and will include hot rods, muscle cars and antiques. Bring a lawn chair, and enjoy their famous Coney Dog and homemade root beer. You can even dance the night away to the sounds of Tony & The Affects, a great 50’s and 60’s band who will be playing from 6:30 – 9:30pm.

Stop by the Grayslake Spring Farmer’s Market in Downtown Grayslake (Center St. & Centennial Park)from 10am – 2pm. This is the last Saturday of the Spring Farmer’s Market. You will be sure to find some fresh produce, wine, cheese, baked goods, olives and much more to bring to your Memorial Day gathering.

The 47th Annual Antique Car Club of America Show and Car Corral at Volo Auto Museum is the premier summer car show. “The Country Club of Car Shows” will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 5pm. Besides awards for the car show, there will be a live band on stage, a beer & wine garden, the Betty Boop Outdoor Grill and much more for the entire family to experience.

From playbills and autographs to the original musical instruments that created some of the most influential music in American history, The Blues: From the Heart & Soul Exhibit brings the sound and feel of the Chicago blues scene to the galleries of the Lake County Discovery Museum in Wauconda. This exhibit features the private collection of internally known Chicago blues pianist Barrelhouse Chuck Goering and is free with museum admission.

The Barrington Art Festival kicks off on Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 5pm. The Art Festival is located at Cook & Station Street and is free for anyone to attend. It will feature the work of 120 artists from around the world in a variety of mediums including ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, photography, watercolors, wood and more.
