In this edition of things to do this weekend June 2-4, we have our first meet and greet with summer.

Lake County will be flirting with 80 degrees all weekend long (Saturday may get a little wet, so bring your galoshes).

Besides the season change, June is highlighted by a variety of outdoor activities, festivals and so much more. Continue here to see the top things to do in June.

After witnessing THE JOKER coaster and the opening of Hurricane Harbor during Memorial Day weekend, Six Flags Great America is now open daily until August 27. Before you head out to the Gurnee theme park, click here for everything you need to know about Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor.

1. Grayslake's Fifth Annual Craft Beer Fest

Thirsty for a cold beer? Downtown Grayslake honors the art of beer by offering over 250 selections from more than 80 different breweries at their Fifth Annual Craft Beer Festival. Admission includes a commemorative glass and a festival program. The fest also features live tunes from bands like Kai Andersen & the Pickups, the Concrete Roots, Social Que, Achilles and more.

Saturday, June 3; Noon-5 p.m. Admission: $35-$65. Downtown Grayslake, 61 S. Whitney St., Grayslake.

2. 18th Annual Ray Bradbury's Dandelion Wine Fine Arts Festival

The City of Waukegan always knows how to throw a party for its favorite son: Ray Bradbury. The Green Town mastermind behind “Fahrenheit 451” and “Martian Chronicles,” unfortunately, passed away June 5, 2012. To celebrate his life, times and legacy, this Lake County city hosts the Annual Ray Bradbury Dandelion Wine Fine Arts Festival. This Bowen Park box social features art, music, live readings, dance, a drum circle and so much more. Attendees are encouraged to add their artistic flair to help create an epic festival masterpiece titled “The Happiness Machine!” The Waukegan fest is a free admission event.

3. Cirque Italia at Gurnee Mills

“He’d (or she’d) fly through the air with the greatest of ease, that daring young man (or woman) on the flying trapeze.” Gurnee Mills hosts the astonishing Cirque Italia as they present ‘Aquatic Spectacular.’ Their stage contains 35,000 gallons of water that performers gracefully dazzle over while thrilling the audience with every move. Dive into a showcase of talented artists from across the globe. The act will feature hand balancing, contortionists and other breathtaking performances. This unforgettable event is perfect for the entire family. This featured presentation takes place in a tent located outside of the mall.

Friday-Sunday, June 2-4; Fri 7:30 p.m., Sat-Sun 2:30, 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Adult Tickets $25-$70, Children Tickets $10-$45. Gurnee Mills, 6170 W. Grand Ave., Gurnee.

4. Deerfield's Annual Fine Arts Festival

The Deerfield Annual Fine Arts Festival highlights the work of more than 120 juried artists from around the world in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, painting, sculptures and more. The event also features live entertainment, kid-friendly art activities and divine dining options. The two-day festival is a free event.

Saturday-Sunday, June 3-4; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Downtown Deerfield, Park Avenue and Deerfield Road, Deerfield.

5. 25th Annual Lake Zurich Fishing Derby

Grab your bait, tackle and fishing rod and head to Paulus Park for the 25th Annual Lake Zurich Fishing Derby. This catch and release derby is a free registration event. Participants may fish from the shore of Paulus Park or by boat. Compete against your peers for a chance to capture the catch of the day.

Sunday, June 4; 9 a.m.-noon. Paulus Park, 200 S. Rand Rd., Lake Zurich.
