Valentine’s Day is one thing, but may be you just want to go out for a date night in Lake County. Next week we will provide with what Lake County has in store for Valentine’s Day. If you don’t have anything planned for February 14th or if you’re searching for spontaneous date night, here’s the lineup of what Lake County offers in music, theatre, hotel packages, outdoor recreation and more. Show the love of your life that you have a few secret plans up your sleeve.

Lake County Concerts for the Music Aficionado Couples

Soda at Dock's Bar

This band isn’t limited to a cookie cutter style. They are unique as their playlist ranges in covers in classic rock, 80s, new wave, Motown, disco, hip hop, reggae alternative and much more. This talented wedding band are true entertainers and a must see show at the Docks!

Six Speed Tranny at Mickey Finn's

Don’t mess with this high-octane, rock and roll three-piece band called Six Speed Tranny. The band that dons the Jurassic Park logo has played over 30 shows in 2015 and has added more music to their repertoire. You can see this band strum a mean axe as they bust out the classics at Mickey Finn’s in Libertyville. Their covers range from the Beatles, the Doors, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Rush, Pink Floyd, Motley Crue, Tom Petty, Foo Fighters, Bush, Lit and many more of your favorite bands.

Black Violin at Genesee Theatre

To most people, jazz, hip-hop, funk, and classical are musical genres. But to revolutionary music group Black Violin, they're nothing but ingredients. This dynamic and diverse duo comprised of Wil B and Kev Marcus will take you on a journey at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan. The two have rocked stages such like Bonaroo, the Presidential Inauguration, SXSW, the Queen Latifah show and many more notable venues. Black Violin has a heavy menu of music fusion that ranges from authentic original music to covers. You’ll be sure to get out of your seat when you see this duet go to work!

Watch this band take you on a journey through vintage rock, the current top country chart toppers, pop, Motown, R&B, Funk, Disco and many other genres. All seven of these musicians are professional with extensive backgrounds from stage to studio. Here a couple of groovy licks from this versatile band!

Lake County Couples with the Taste for Center Stage

The Complete History of America Abridged at Three Brothers Theatre

The Complete History of America Abridged will run for a two-week stint at Three Brothers Theatre in Waukegan. In just one hour and a half, this play will cover six centuries of history. The play features the Revolutionary War and the 60's revolution, but also highlights the goofs and hi jinks of other historical figures. Adult Admission is $15, while senior and child entry fee is $15.

February 6-21 on Fridays and Saturdays @ 8 pm

Meet Me in St. Louis at PM&L Theatre

PM&L Theatre in Antioch is running the legendary show, Meet Me in St. Louis. The play is set during the time of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition Fair in 1904. This well-known movie originally featured Judy Garland. The original movie debuted “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Buy your ticket now for this two-week showing at the Antioch Theatre. Go see this 1940s classic of the Gateway to the West. Adult admission is $13 while seniors and kids entry fee is $11.

La Cage aux follies

La Cage Aux Folles at Marriott Theatre

The Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire is sure to be a hit for date night as they perform La Cage aux Folles. The storyline follows a middle-aged gay couple that decides to keep their relationship on the hush-hush when their son returns home with his fiancée. The relationship is kept a secret due to the main character’s son is introducing his fiancé’s uber conservative parents. This three-time winning Tony Award musical had a 1996 film adaptation called ‘The Birdcage’ featuring Nathan Lane and the late Robin Williams was created from La Cage Aux Folles template.
