Sunrise Park in Lake Bluff
Just a quick walk down the bluff leads to Lake Bluff’s beach, Sunrise Park. Lake Bluff packs it all in this ornate beach. There is much to do at Sunrise Park as it has a dog beach, two swimming beaches, and a boating beach. So bring your dog, towel, or kayak down to the beach to take full advantage of what Lake Bluff’s treasure has to offer.
Dog Beach
The dog beach is a great place to bring your dog for a swim. It is the northernmost beach at Sunrise Park and is separated from the other beaches by a gate, so there is no need to worry that your dog will disturb other patrons of the beach. In order to access it, your dog must have the proper tags that can be purchased at the recreation center in Lake Bluff. Once your dog has this pass, it is free to access for the season.

Swimming Beaches
The swimming beaches are guarded and well maintained. A flag at the top of the bluff indicates the water quality and if swimming is allowed that day. After swimming, we recommend lying out in the sand to enjoy the warm summer sunshine or request a complimentary beach chair from one of the lifeguards. On the sand there is plenty to do from day use shelters with picnic tables in them, to a volleyball net and a play structure.
Boating Beach
At the boating beach, there is storage for small sailboats, kayaks and paddle boards, kayak and paddle board rentals and sailing lessons offered through the park district. In order to store your boat, you must be a member of the Lake Bluff Yacht Club. Kayak and paddle board rentals are offered here. You must be either 18 years of age to rent one or have a waiver signed by the minor's guardian.
