The museum will celebrate American Sailor’s unwavering and patriotic allegiance as well as honor those U.S. Navy men and women who live by the credo of honor, courage and commitment.
The construction of this new North Chicago facility is the only museum dedicated to the American Enlisted Sailor.
The museum will be comprised of:
- 40,000+ square feet of interior museum space including multiple exhibit galleries, a performance auditorium, conference and meeting rooms, gift shop and supporting facilities
- 5 acres of landscaped grounds, water features and sculpture gardens
- Convenient dedicated surface parking for visitor/patron automobiles and touring charters
- The surrounding Sheridan Crossing Cultural, Hospitality, Entertainment District includes approximately 350,000 square feet of complementary hospitality, dining, entertainment and retail amenities in support of the museum.
The National Museum of the American Sailor vows to preserve, educate and celebrate the history of these hero’s dedication, patriotism and self-sacrifice – as they have protected the U.S. citizens from the late 1700s to present times.
The development will also provide innovative and inspirational educational programs, exhibits, preservation of the physical legacy, tradition and experiences surrounding the Naval Heritage.
This new project will be located between Sheridan Road, Argonne Drive and Broadway Avenue. The structure is located 58 miles south of Milwaukee and 39 miles north of Chicago.
