It is a trying time as we deal with the novel coronavirus in Lake County. However, many of your land of lakes eateries are providing curbside pickup, carry-out and delivery.
For the foreseeable future, dining in is not an option due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Support your local cuisine makers as they will still be serving the high-class fare that you know and love. If you aren't eating out now, get your hands on gift cards when these businesses reopen. Here is a list of the Northern Lake County Restaurants providing curbside pickup, carry-out and delivery.
The Highwood facility is the north shore’s premier distillery and lounge. The Lake County Libation Trail participant is donned in art deco (you’ll feel like you’re in a 1920s speakeasy). The Highwood drinkery has an unbelievable backstory of how these crafters came up with the name and logo of their distillery. The Debonair (the woman on their logo) was a real-life queen during the Prohibition Era. The Highwood distillery is offering to-go cocktails as they have prepared four different "Prohibition 2020" cocktails.
This Lake Zurich fine dining venue features locally raised cuts of beef and pork from the family's prized stock. Their menu also features slow-roasted prime rib, fresh seafood and locally-sourced produce. The delectable steakhouse is offering curbside takeout and delivery from 11;30 a.m.-8 p.m. daily through these times. Twenty percent of all sales are going back to the employees, and if you order a bottle of wine over $50, foodies will receive two free Beelow's wine glasses.
This casual Italian Restaurant offers an extensive selection of homemade and imported pastas, soups, salads, seafood and more. As we adapt to social distancing, the Deer Park Town Center restaurant is offering 20 percent off online orders of $50 or more, and they waive delivery fees when ordered through order.biaggis.com. Biaggi's Ristorante Italiano is also offering curbside pickup on bottles of wine for 50 percent off.
You just can’t get enough of Big Bowl. The chain eatery continues to wow foodies across the country. The Lincolnshire location is no different. Whether it’s sweet or spicy, rice or noodles, Chinese or Thai that you are craving, Big Bowl’s menu has it all. Bosacki’s Brewery (formerly known as Bosacki’s Home Brew/Microbrewery) is a local microbrewery serving traditional and historic ales and lagers. Fresh liquified hops are available in growlers to take home and share with the family and friends. Bosacki features 12 libations on tap. You can take home 32 and 64-ounce growlers for later consumption.
Buffalo Creek Brewing in historic downtown Long Grove has something extra brewing every weekend. The Lake County destination brewery that is popular for its Bavarian-style brew features a tasting room, deck and gazebo. Brewmeister and owner Mike Marr puts a little bit of magic in his libations as he produces 10 unique beers. The award-winning brewery is known for its 42K Belgian Strong Ale, Marrvelous German-Style Kölsch, Xerxes Chocolate Bacon Stout (Lake County libation of the month in June 2019) and more. Chessie's was constructed near Barrington's former train station and features dining in (when they are available to do so again) in a vintage Illinois Central railroad dining car. The menu ranges from appetizers to salads, sandwiches, pasta, fresh fish and USDA-choice steaks. The Barrington restaurant is offering curbside delivery for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Until March 31, foodies can get 10 percent off all orders including beer and wine.
The Claim Company is a southern, gold-mining themed restaurant located at Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills. The eatery opened its doors in the early 1970s and is renowned for their Motherlode burger and its salad bar that features over 70 ingredients. The Vernon Hills fare haven features a gluten-free, dairy-free and vegetarian menus. They are open from 3:45-7:30 p.m., offering carryout, curbside and delivery. If you are looking for the delivery option, utilize GrubHub, UberEats and Door Dash.
Curt's or "Cultivating Unique Restaurant Training" Café in Highland Park utilizes local products to create homemade pastries, inspired sandwiches, soups and salads made from scratch. The non-profit eatery takes young student-trainees at risk between ages 15-24 to assist them in securing employment. The Highland Park restaurant is open for curbside delivery from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
It's like being 'transported to another place and time' in Highwood. This restaurant, reminiscent of vintage Italy, has a menu that includes fruit dishes, breakfast, salads, pastas, piatti, contorni and a slew of other delectable items. The Highwood restaurant offers curbside pickup and delivery throughout this time. Keep calm and carry out Italian comfort fare.
This Mundelein seafood staple and one of the land of lake's eldest nautical fare establishments. Famous extensive menu of seafood flown in daily, Dover Straits also offers premium steaks, pasta dishes and other excellent selections for the most discerning diner. While dining in is halted for the next few weeks across the state, the starboard sea fare eatery is open 1-6 p.m. from their limited menu for curbside pickup and delivery. Savor the flavor of an extensive beer list at the Lincolnshire Brewery. The four-year-old Lincolnshire brewpub frequently swaps out and adds new delicious craft flavors. Some of their lauded beers include Chieftain Session IPA, the Meridian Wit and their marquee beverage, the Barrel-Aged Warrior Paint Imperial Coffee Stout. Their eats menus are highlighted by award-winning wings, wood-fired pizza, tacos, burgers, sandwiches and a host of other delectable bites. Half Day Brewing Co. is highlighted by their full menu, bottles of beer, wine and liquor as well as brand new growlers for $10 available for curbside pickup and delivery.
Lindy’s delectable eats include burgers, seafood, sirloin medallions, macaroni, jambalaya, chicken piccata, rock salt prime rib, and a plethora of other fare-favorite items. The Wauconda business celebrated its half-century birthday in 2015. Lindy's Landing offers curbside pickup and delivery on Tuesday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5- 8 p.m.

Maggiano's Little Italy is an Italian-American themed restaurant located at Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills. The Vernon Hills eatery is renowned for its authentic, homemade cuisine like signature flatbreads, hand-crafted cocktails, and entrees like their Taylor Street Baked Ziti and Zucchini Fritte.
For 15 years, Mambo Italiano Ristorante has been keeping Italian tradition alive for the generations to come by specializing in traditional styles of Italian Cuisine.
