Kid's Guide to Six Flags Great America

Coasters, cakes and of course that wascally wabbit at Great America Next Weekend...

Like adults, the young whipper snappers have their own kid’s guide to Six Flags Great America.

What’s better than your little tike's uncontrollable laughter when zipping by in the Whizzer or Little Dipper. Maybe they’ve finally surpassed the height restriction enabling them to take the Goliath challenge.

It could be that your youngster is trying to conquer their fear of coasters, which ultimately has your children exclaiming – ‘Why was I so scared anyway? This is the best!’

The Mardi Gras Hangover is the 16th coaster to join The JOKER, BATMAN: The Ride, Raging Bull, X-Flight, American Eagle, SUPERMAN: Ultimate Flight and more. The Mardi Gras Hangover will stand at 100 feet tall (and will soon be the world's largest loop coaster). For more information on the soon-to-be Guinness World Record ride, continue here.

For the last three years, Six Flags Great America introduced unique rides to the Gurnee park. THE JOKER was introduced in 2017. The Joker character is also featured as an enemy in JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis. The JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis is an interactive 4D thrill ride that debuted in 2016. The indoor ride was recognized as “Best New Product” by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions in 2016, Top Ten New Amusement Park Attraction in the USA Today and Best New Attraction by Theme Park Insider. JUSTICE LEAGUE is a can’t-miss thrill ride for the kiddies! Since it's a 42-inch minimum accompanied by an adult, even your little superheroes won't miss the chance to face off with everyone's favorite punny villain.

The Details

Admissions for kids vary based on height.  Because kids 48 inches and under can’t ride every ride, their entry fee is cheaper. (See price details here)

While there are plenty of rides that don't have height restrictions, Great America’s more exciting rides often come with a height minimum to help keep kids safe.  Here are just a few popular rides and the height restrictions to bear in mind while planning your day at the park!

36” with adult and 42” to ride alone: Whizzer, Little Dipper, Roaring Rapids, River Rocker, Spacely’s Sprocket Rockets
