Whether it is raining, shining or just pushing 100 degrees outside, every two weeks Food Truck Fridays commence at the Lincolnshire Corporate Center Parking Lot.
If you need a more direct route – it’s that big campus in the southwest corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Knightsbridge Parkway Parking Lot (plug into GPS with the address 300 Knightsbridge Parkway Parking Lot). I guess if you want an even more solid location… well just be like Toucan Sam and follow your nose as he does for Froot Loops.
In all seriousness, this event delights the famished employees not only in the buildings surrounding the scrumptious spectacle, but many people in Lake County journey for fun in the sun with inspired dishes from the Food Truck Friday. Food Truck Fridays runs all summer until September 23 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
In Chicago, there are many food trucks parked around the city, but the suburbs don’t have that luxury as the city does because many suburbs don’t allow mobile restaurants unless they’ve created permits for one-day fests.
Last year, we went southbound to Lincolnshire to see one of these Fridays up-close and personal in a What are you doing next weekend? Webisode. Continue here to see the 2015 video.
In the 2015 version there were only 6-7 different trucks there. The number has jumped with its success for the popular lunch hour to 10 trucks now.
The participating Trucks in this glorious event includes Ana’s Eats & Treats, Best Truckin’ BBQ, Chicago Cupcake, Happy Lobster, Grill Chasers, Louie B. Fresh, Mario’s Cart, Swirl Café, Toasty Cheese and Yum Dum.
Since the summer is half over, you now only have five remaining dates for the Lincolnshire get together: July 29, August 12, August 26, September 9 and September 23. This event also offers free admission and parking. Make this Tasty Tuesday: Food Truck Fridays a meal on wheels.
