Ten days to savor continues this weekend in the county. The farmyard in Green Oaks/Libertyville starts its season. Get help planning your nuptials in Wauconda. A unique golf experience opens up in Lincolnshire. A search for eggs in on in Fox Lake and the Easter Bunny makes an appearance too. Lets take a look at the top five things to do this weekend April 8-10.

1. Ten Days to Savor: Lake County Restaurant Week

It’s the final weekend of the seventh installment of Lake County Restaurant Week. The Ten Days to Savor includes over 60 restaurants and gives foodies the opportunity to explore new places to dine or visit old favorites. Each participating restaurant will be offering either a prix fixe menu or an exclusive restaurant week dining offer. Visitors can win various prizes when aiming their smart phone camera at the participating eatery’s QR code located on the table tent, or visit LakeCountyRestaurantWeek.com to enter. Check in at three participating restaurants to qualify during the 10-day stretch. Dining parties have the opportunity to win an overnight stay dinner and theatre package at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, Marriott Theatre and Wright’s Brew & Bistro. Other prizes include a cooking class at The Joyful Gourmet in Libertyville and a $50 gift card at from a participating restaurant. In this edition of LCRW, patrons are invited to snap their entrée, capture yourself eating a divine dish or their server serving your cuisine (with their permission) at VisitLakeCounty.org/Restaurant-Week-Photo-Contest.  The fare holiday only happens once a year, so make your reservations early. While devouring the delectable fare across the county this weekend, share your experience on social media using #LakeCountyRW and/or #LetsGoLakeCounty. Lake County Restaurant Week: Ten Days to Savor runs through Sunday, April 10.

2. Lambs Farm Farmyard Opens For The Season

Old Lake County had a farm E-I-E-I-O. Lambs Farm reopens its doors for the season this weekend. The Libertyville/Green Oaks area farmyard is highlighted by a petting area with sheep, goats and a plethora of other livestock creatures to meet and greet, a variety of attractions like miniature golf, an old-world carousel and more. Visit the homestead’s Dogwood Garden Pet Center, Magnolia Café & Bakery and the Sugar Maple Country Store for delectable treats, unique treasures, adorable puppies and kittens. Newly introduced for this season are Keeper Chats.  The new segment showcases animal curators educating guests and conducting an animal feature, while providing a behind-the-scenes look at the farm’s renowned pig residents or Joseph the dromedary camel. Lambs Farm is a businesses that provides benefit programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. Visitors can make reservations online at LambsFarm.org or call directly at 847-362-4636. Children ages two and under receive free entry. Mini golf is included with admission. The farmyard is open through late October.

Friday-Sunday, April 8-10; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission: $5 per person. Reservations are recommended. Other activities may require additional admissions. Lambs Farm, 14245 W. Rockland Rd., Libertyville.

3. Lindy's Landing's 2022 Wedding Expo in Wauconda

Lindy’s Landing Restaurant & Marina hosts its inaugural wedding expo this Saturday. The Wauconda lakefront venue provides a variety of broom-jumping vendors to assist visitors with wedding planning. Vendors in attendance include hairstylists, photographers, officiants travel agents and more. Lindy’s will also serve samples of their banquet appetizers. SLYCE Coal-Fired Pizza Company and Lake County Libation Trail partner Side Lot Brewery will be in attendance. RSVP by Friday, April 8 for free entry. Day of event registration cost $10.

4. Par-King Skill Golf Opens in Lincolnshire

Par-King Skill Golf in Lincolnshire opens their season this weekend. The unique two 18-hole courses with 19 moving obstacles and seven water holes are challenging and fun for the even the most seasoned of golfers and first timers. Named one of the top 10 and most original miniature golf courses in the country, the Lincolnshire staple provides exceptional obstacles throughout the tiny links. Par-King Skill Mini Golf has achieved accolades by various local and national media syndicates and publications including the Travel Channel, USA Today, Golf Digest and more. Have an un-fore-gettable experience at Lake County’s marquee mini golf adventure. Children must be at least 48 inches or taller to be admitted.

5. Egg-Citing Egg Hunt & Bunny Breakfast in Fox Lake

The Egg-citing Egg Hunt and Bunny Breakfast occurs on Saturday at the Lakefront Park Building in Fox Lake. The Bunny Breakfast kicks off at 8 a.m. highlighted by pancakes, eggs, sausage links, coffee, milk and juice, while the Egg-Citing Egg Hunt starts at 10 a.m. for children ages 10 and under. The event is also highlighted by photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny. Families of egg hunters and breakfast diners are encouraged to bring donations of used glasses, hearing aids and cell phones during the event.

Saturday, April 9; 8-11 a.m. Breakfast Admission: $6-$8, children ages three and under eat free. Egg Hunt Admission: $2, Fox Lake residents receive free entry. Lakefront Park Building, 71 Nippersink Blvd., Fox Lake.
