Take a look at what Lake County has in store for you in top things to do this weekend August 21-23.
1.) Summertime and ribs just have a wonderful relationship together. Check out see what the Vernon Hills Park District is cooking at the Little Bear Rib Fest in Century Park in Vernon Hills. Besides Lake County’s best ribs, check out live entertainment kids events and whole slew of fun things to do with the entire family in this two-day fest.

2.) Lake Zurich is featuring the area’s local restaurants, wineries and breweries will be serving delectable samples of their menus at the 9th Annual Taste of Towns in Paulus Park. Other than the eats your taste buds crave, there will be live performances from local musicians, and other family fun activities for you to enjoy. You must purchase a Tasting Menu to receive a sample from each of the vendors.

3.) Meet the man full of thousands of impressions in Seth MacFarlane. He brings his talents to Ravinia Fest this weekend. MacFarlane is known for is two shows, ‘Family Guy,’ and ‘American Dad!’ He has also used his voice talent and writing skills in children shows presented by Hanna Barbara. The talented artist was also the host of the Academy Awards in 2013.

4.) This is the last weekend of the His & Herstory: A Historical Photographic Exhibit at St. Lawrence Episcopal Church in Libertyville. This exhibit compiles Libertyville stories during the Civil War, i.e. the development of the community, the building of businesses and the formation of families. This is your last chance to see an in depth vision and journey of the Libertyville origins.

5.) This weekend marks the final weekend of Twelfth Night or What You Will, Shakespearean play at Three Brothers Theatre in Waukegan. This classic follows the story of twins Viola and Sebastian are separated and presume each other to have perished. Disguised as a man, Viola finds work with the Duke Orsino. Orsino is smitten with the Countess Olivia, but Olivia has fallen in love with Cesario. However, Cesario is actually Viola! To make things even more interesting, Viola falls for Orsino, and her brother, poor Sebastian in this masterpiece of romantic comedy.
