1. Lake County Libation Trail Month

2. Windy City Wedding Show at the DoubleTree Mundelein

Wedding ceremonies are a beautiful sight because they celebrate life and possibility. Wedding planning is hectic. In just a couple months, you will be dressed to kill walking down the aisle and looking deeply into the eyes of your significant other. Holiday Inn Gurnee Convention Center has got you covered as they host the most extensive wedding expo in the Chicago suburbs and southern Wisconsin: the Windy City Wedding Show. Equipped with a full day of wedding planning with a one-stop-shop for everything you need, the event features over 40 wedding professionals to address your big day’s needs, bridal salons, honeymoon travel specialists, a fashion show and more. 3. Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge Illinois

“Let it snow” in Lake County for all we care because inside Great Wolf Lodge Illinois, the temperature is a toasty 84 degrees. This is the final weekend you and the family can experience their annual Snowland celebration. The event is full of holiday season activities like visit’s with Saint Nick, shimmering décor, Snow ‘N’ Glow Dance parties, the North Pole University where your kids can achieve their official “Snowploma” this snow-mester, a life-sized gingerbread house that your family can devour a delectable meal and of course an 80,000 square-foot indoor water park for a splashing good time. The event runs through January 5.

4. El Dia de Los Muertos Exhibit at the Dunn Museum of Lake County

Laud the beings of yesteryear at the Lake County Forest Preserve museum’s exhibit: A Celebration of Souls Day of the Dead in Southern Mexico – otherwise known as Day of the Dead in English. An exhibition that was created in collaboration with Chicago’s Field Museum and Mars, Incorporated, the exhibit showcases 26 photographs snapped around Oaxaca, Mexico – where ritual comes alive. You’ll get an accurate idea of how the holiday is celebrated, the kaleidoscopic flower displays and so much more. This is the final weekend of the Libertyville exhibit.

5. Ford V. Ferrari Exhibit at Volo Auto Museum

Get an up-close and personal look at the real-life automobiles displayed in the Matt Damon/Christian Bale box office smash “Ford V. Ferrari.” The story between the two renowned car companies shows the race for the next innovative whip in 1966. View the GT40 actually used in the film in all of its splendor at the Volo Auto Museum. Other rides on display include the Holman and Moody car #95, the Shelby and so much more. This is the final weekend of the exhibit.
