A multi-chamber block party is coming to Mundelein. The celebration of St. Patrick's Day kicks off in downtown Libertyville. A Tony Award-nominated play concludes its run in Lake Forest. You'll be able to find antiques and collectibles in Grayslake. Flowers are in bloom in Glencoe. Lets take a look at the top five things to do this weekend March 11-13.

The 10th annual Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein Vernon Hills (GLMV) Chamber of Commerce Extreme Block Party Family & Taste of the Towns returns to the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Libertyville-Mundelein. The Mundelein Block Party features an abundance of family-friendly activities showcasing over 100 local vendors. Visitors can indulge in the Famous Traveling World of Reptile Show hosted by David Dinaso, free food samples served by local eateries, a bounce house, live music performed by School of Rock, product demonstrations in home improvement, health and wellness and more. The free GLMV Chamber festival also issues myriad raffles and giveaways including a grand prize raffle with a $500 value. Land of lakes vendors include Adler Arts Center, Harbor Kitchen + Tap of Libertyville, Lake County Libation Trail partner Tighthead Brewing Co. in Mundelein and more. Dinaso’s beloved, cold-blooded critter show begins at noon and the grand prize raffle is pulled at 3 p.m.

Kick the St. Paddy’s Day festivities off early as Mickey Finn’s Brewery in Libertyville hosts its weeklong Irish festivities. The Lake County Libation Trail participant’s celebration is highlighted by traditional cuisines like corned beef, cabbage, fish and chips and beer specials. On Saturday, the state’s eldest craft brewery showcases live music performances by Frank Quinn and the Quarantinis, Fitz and the Celts and Marlon and the Shakes. Mickey Finn’s will also host a pro series class as they conduct a brewing session of their Great American Beer Fest medal-winning Dark & Down Rye Lager for up-and-coming beer makers The festivities continue on Sunday featuring the renowned Celtics tappers, the McNulty Irish Dancers of Arlington Heights in the brewery’s Amber Room along with live tunes from the Bridgeport Ramblers of Wauconda. For the six-day Irish bash, Mickey Finn’s will donate $1 from each pint of their in-house made St. Pat’s Irish Ale, Hackett Irish Stout or 95.1 WIIL Rock Dopplebock goes to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Visit again on March 17 as the MainStreet Libertyville brewhouse and 95 WIIL ROCK host a live broadcasted show, highlighted by bagpipers, Irish-themed eats and brunch, green libations, NCAA’s March Madness and live tunes from various bands.

Receive a slice of rural Irish life as “Outside Mullingar” concludes its run at Citadel Theatre in Lake Forest this weekend. Written by celebrated playwright and screenwriter John Paul Shanley, the charming tale tells the story of Anthony and Rosemary, two introverted neighbors awkwardly fumbling through life. The narrative evolves through a series of mishaps and misunderstandings as romance blooms showing how it’s never too late to take a chance on love. During its 2014 Broadway run, the Shanley play received a Tony Award nomination. The production runs through Sunday.

Get a head start on treasure hunting season. Zurko Promotions visits Grayslake’s Lake County Fairgrounds and Event Center to showcase its recurring Antique “Flea” Market. The Grayslake Antique and Flea Market event offers a variety of antiques, collectibles, county furniture, estate jewelry, memorabilia, comics, post cards, decorative arts, porcelains, old toys, vintage clothing and more. Two-day admission is $7, and children ages 12 and under receive free entry with paying adult. The flea market also offers early buyers Saturday from 8-9 a.m. at a $25 rate.

Celebrate the radiant colors of blossoms at the Chicago Botanic Garden’s exhibit, “The Orchid Show: Untamed.” This breathtaking-floral exhibit features thousands of sweeping orchids in a secret garden, wrapping themselves around pillars, inducing enlightening visions in your mind. Blooms of other tropical plants will also be on display. On select Thursday evenings, experience Orchids After Hours where visitors (ages 21 and older) can indulge in a nighttime gaze of the Glencoe vegetation while sipping cocktails and nibbling on appetizers. The horticultural showcase runs through March 27.
