 1. Waukegan Celebrates Pride Month

Waukegan celebrates Pride Month with a party in the City of Progress’s downtown area on Saturday. Lake County PrideFest’s festivities include various musical performances, beer tents, food trucks, children activities and more. The event kicks off with the Waukegan Friends hosting the city’s Pride Drive in the morning. Drivers must check in at Lot D at Clayton Road and Sheridan Road by 8 a.m. The cruise begins at 10:30 a.m. The drive makes a loop through downtown Waukegan and ends at 11:30 a.m. The city also throws a myriad of after parties beginning at 5 p.m. highlighted by drag shows, burlesque shows and other contests being held at Lake County Libation Trail partner Nightshade and Dark’s Pandemonium Brewing, Genesee Theatre, Green Town on the Rocks, Three Brothers Theatre and at the main stage located at 100 N. 2. Lincolnshire Arts Festival Celebrates 25 Years

Lincolnshire Arts Festival is celebrating 25 years of showcasing art, music and food to the community. Festival attendees will be able to peruse through and buy paintings, jewelry, sculptures, ceramics and more artistic creations. This year features more than 80 different juried artists from around the country displaying their works for the public to view and purchase. Lincolnshire Arts Festival will be held in the Village Green of Lincolnshire Plaza on Saturday and Sunday, both days from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Food and beverages will be available onsite for purchase provided by Lake County Libation Trail partner Half Day Brewing Company. The art fest is highlighted by live music on both days of the celebration by Tank & the Beez, Cirrus Falcon, Marcel, and Michelet. Fest-goers can bring their own gently used wall art and home decorations to donate to charity if they want to make room for the new display pieces that they may acquire. Admission and parking for this festival are free. The Lincolnshire show is handicap accessible and wheelchair friendly.

Saturday-Sunday, June 4-5; Sat-Sun: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free admission. Additional activities, crafts and food will cost extra. Village Green of Lincolnshire, 100 Village Green Dr., Lincolnshire.

3. 10th Annual Lambs Farm Car Show Benefit

Car geeks and petrol heads can rejoice thanks to the 10th annual Lambs Farm Car Show Benefit happening this Sunday. The Libertyville/Green Oaks-area farm showcases a viewable selection and will run the full gambit of custom vehicles, show cars, big trucks and a variety of restored and modified creations. The show occurs in the main parking lot of Lambs Farm and will feature musical performances, vendor and beer tents, vehicle judging, trophies and goodie bags for the first 90 exhibitors. There is a lucky raffle fundraiser for attendees to win gift baskets, gift cards and more. Admission is free for all who want to browse and take in that custom car smell. Those interested can enter and display their vehicles for $20 on event day. Gates open and late registration begins at 9 a.m. for those who want to enter their vehicles on the day of the show.

Sunday, June 5; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Free admission. Additional activities, crafts and food will cost extra. Lambs Farm, 14245 W. Rockland Rd., Libertyville.

4. Tempel Lipizzans Starts The Season With A Preview Party

The Tempel Lipizzans invites the public for an exclusive preview party. Steed enthusiasts can witness this year’s newborn foals and their mothers along with a sneak-peek Summer Spotlight Performance. The show is broken into five segments taking visitors through the Tempel Farms history, their breeding and care program, the stallion’s training regiment, how the trainers work with the majestic animals and the different “dance steps” horses perform. Preceding the first viewing is an elegant gathering at Tempel Farms exclusive event space just steps from the arena, which starts at 3 p.m. this Saturday on June 4. Tickets to this exclusive spectacle are $150 and the preview party will be held at their Old Mill Creek stables. Admission also includes a stable tour, wine and sparkling beverages and hors d'oeuvres at the reception before the show.

5. Fox Lake Summer Art Series Free Concerts Starts This Friday

Get the family together and load up the car with snacks, lawn chairs and blankets for a free concert in the Community Garden Green in the Village of Fox Lake. This Friday’s show features the musical stylings of Michael Lescher, a classic rock singer and pianist. Lescher, who’s also a Fox Lake resident, regularly performs at Shirley’s Piano Bar in Barrington. The Summer Art Series is a free concert series that is held every Friday between 6:30-8 p.m. through September 20, featuring a new weekly performance, weather permitting.
