It’s been an awesome first half of the season at Ravinia Festival in Highland Park as it always is. The oldest outdoor concert in the country is over a century old, and even though we know it well, it can always surprise us. There are a few updates at Ravinia Festival.
Rock legend Lenny Kravitz has been added to the concert series schedule for September 3 at 8 p.m. Seats are $95/$80 and $38 for lawn.
Kravitz has had an illustrious career as he was nominated for eight Grammy Awards for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance, Best Rock Vocal Solo Performance and Best Rock Song (’93, ’95, ’99, ‘00, ’01 twice, ’02 & ’03).
Kravitz is known for such hits as ‘It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over,’ ‘Fly Away,’ ‘American Woman, ‘Again,’ and ‘Dig in.’ Earlier this year Kravitz made a cameo in Super Bowl XLIX’s Halftime Show with Katy Perry.
Also he’s made his mark on television and movies as he is in Hunger Games, Empire and The Butler.
Another addition to shows are the lawn screen – which is a video screen on the lawn for everyone to get a view of the festivities on stage.
Upcoming shows featuring the lawn screen are Umphrey’s McGee (August 14), The Flying Dutchman with CSO (August 15), Star Trek featuring CSO (August 16), 3 Doors Down & Collective Soul (August 17), Under the Sun Tour featuring Better than Ezra, Sugar Ray, Uncle Kracker, Eve 6 (August 18), NeedtoBreathe & SwitchFoot (August 19), Seth McFarlane ( August 21) and Chicago (August 22-23).
