Lake County is no stranger to the sacrifices of those in service. As home to the only remaining naval base, in the country,
Naval Station Great Lakes, we are proud to support the efforts of all of those in uniform.
To all of those that have been a member of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, we truly appreciate and thank you for your service.

The United States’ only remaining naval boot camp is located here in Lake County and to celebrate Veterans Day and the Bicentennial of Illinois, the National Museum of the American Sailor is throwing a party. The Great Lakes museum will host ABC7 Chicago Weekend News anchor, Mark Rivera’s live broadcasted show. The segment will focus on the Land of Lincoln sailors, the rich history behind Waukegan, North Chicago and Naval Station Great Lakes and the roles they have played for the United States Navy and other fascinating Illinois historical nuggets.

U.S. Representative for Illinois's 10th Congressional District Brad Schneider welcomes all veterans to breakfast at Cristo Rey St. Martin's to thank them for their service and wish them a happy Veterans Day.

Gurnee's excellent American Legion is hosting a Veterans Day dinner on Friday night and a special breakfast Sunday morning.

The Lake Forest Civic Orchestra invites all veterans and immediate families for an evening of free music at the beautiful Gorton Community Center. The symphony will honor the 100 year anniversary of WWI and Illinois's bicentennial.

Join the Deerfield American Legion Post 738 and Mayor Harriet Rosenthal to honor our brave soldiers at the Veterans Day Memorial Service. The event is located at the intersection of Jewett Park and Park Avenue.

Green Town is honoring vets with a grand parade. The "Illinois Arts-Friendly Community" is also celebrating the century-anniversary of World War I's halt fire. The parade as it steps off of Grand Avenue and Genesee St at 10:30 a.m.
