Old Jacob Marley and a cast of other memorable Charles Dickens characters are lined along Main St and Lake St in Antioch.
Why may you ask? Well, it’s the holiday season and Charles Dickens was a master of writing when it came to Christmas. Antioch is hosting its second annual Dickens Holiday Village.
Watch Olde England come alive on Historic Downtown Antioch as life like figures are caroling, working and so much more. Each collection of statues has a backstory placed beside it as 27 different storylines are there while you enjoy the charm of Dickens, the Antioch boutiques, gift shops and restaurants.
This volunteer public art exhibit has 45 different mannequins spread around in different poses acting out scenes. You'll see the happy side of the Dickens Era and also experience the sad side of Dickens as you see young children working to help support their families.
